Kenny Ma Announced as Women's Volleyball Head Coach

Coach Ma's role expands to include Head Coach of Women's Indoor Volleyball, Men's Beach Volleyball, and Women's Beach Volleyball

Westcliff Beach Volleyball coach, Kenny Ma, will be expanding his role as head coach, leading teams on the sand as well as the indoor court. Effective immeidately, Coach Ma will assume the position and lead three individual teams in the Westcliff Athletics department; Women's Indoor Volleyball, Men's Beach Volleyball, and Women's Beach Volleyball. 

Ma said "Being the head coach of the Women’s Indoor Volleyball Program is an honor and a privilege. Coaching indoor volleyball has always been my “home”, so I am excited for this journey.".

 
He includes that his vision for the program is "to create a top caliber team and foster a competitive team culture. I am looking for athletes who are ready to be pushed and compete at a high level. We want athletes who embody the Westcliff Warrior’s culture."
 
Dean of Athletics, Shawn Harris, built the Westcliff Athletics department on the 5Cs that sets the standard for coaches and atheltes alike; character, culture, community, commitment, and championships. Dean Harris said "Coach Ma has done an excellent job in the development of our beach program at Westcliff. He has been a prime example of our 5Cs. With that said, I am incredibly excited for Kenny to have an opportunity to elevate our Women's Indoor Volleyball to prominence." 
 
Coach Ma included "I am excited to get to work with our athletes in the gym. Most of these athletes I have already been working with on the sand. It’s going to be a change in scenery, but I believe that this could be a seamless transition. I would like to thank our Dean of Athletics, Shawn Harris, and our entire AD staff for this amazing opportunity. I am excited for this journey and ready to get to work! Let’s bring home some championships!"
 
The Westcliff Indoor Volleyball team is slated to begin their Cal Pac conference schedule on February 20, 2021. Beach Volleyball is expected to begin conference play on April 4, 2021.
