Warriors Impress at PCSC Finals
It wasn’t just Robin Pettersson putting on a show last weekend in Monterey Park, where the Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference held its championship meet. Of course, Pettersson shined as usual for the Warriors, but a couple new names made noise as well.

It wasn't just Robin Pettersson putting on a show last weekend in Monterey Park, where the Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference held its championship meet.
Of course, Pettersson shined as usual for the Warriors, but a couple new names made noise as well.
Pettersson did damage in his two best events, the 50 and 100 freestyle events, taking eighth in the 100 with a time of 47.13 seconds, and ninth in the 50 with a mark of 21.19 seconds.
In the 50, Pettersson took four-tenths of a second off his 10th place preliminary time (21.58). He was slightly faster in his 100 prelim though (47.09), good for seventh overall.
Westcliff's distance swimmer, Dean Bartlett, had an exceptional weekend, finishing 12th overall in the 1650 free with a mark of 18:06.94.
Bartlett also reached the 1000 free finals and finished 16th overall with a time of 10:40.75.
Bartlett didn't make it out of prelims in the 50 free, regardless, he turned in a nice finish of 5:06.94, good for 21st.
Loevass Simen, meanwhile, did work in his best events the 100 and 200 breastroke.
Simen reached the finals in both events, placing 13th overall (59.79 seconds) in the 100, and 15th overall (2:15.71) in the 200.
Simen didn't make it out of prelims in the 50 free (24.04).
All three Warrior men swimmers broke school records over the weekend.
On the women's side, Guilianna Galetto showed well in the 100 and 200 backstroke.
Galetto finished 33rd (1:04.98) in the 100 and 37th in the 200 (2:24).
She finished 64th in the crowded 50 free field, turning in a mark of 28.02.

"The Pacific Coast Swimming Conference Championships went very well. All three of our men scored in 2 of 3 events entered and set seven Westcliff University records.
