Hale with an Inside The Park Grand Slam

What Happened? Westcliff finishing off their 3 game series against the Bethesda Flames took to the field saturday at the OC Great Park. The air was filled to be an electric night of baseball. The Flames however were the first team on the board with 2 runs in the top of the 1st. Westcliff then found momentum in the bottom of the 4th with some heavy hitting from Sorondo and Esqueda. An error from the flames allowed Rosario to score the 1st run of many for the Warriors. The following inning off of a lead off double from Matt Smith started the momentum for the warriors. Smith stole 3rd base but a throwing error from the catcher allowed Smith to run home and tie up the game at 3 a piece. That was not all for this inning with two walks, man on 1st and 2nd JB Rosario came up to the plate. A double from Rosario gave the Warriors the lead sending Harmon all the way home from 3rd.
The most exciting inning of the night was in the bottom of the 6th. In the middle of the inning with 2 outs something was brewing from the dugout. Three straight walks. Keith Hale came up to the plate facing loaded bases. A hard cut sent the ball to centerfield. The centerfielder gave a hard effort diving for the ball but was just out of reach. All chaos erupted as Rocha, Smith and Harmon ran home and scored. However, that was not it Keith Hale also wanted to go home. Hale turned on the jets scoring the 1st every (Inside the Park Grand Slam).
A solid pitching performance from Eddie Vokes and Colby Weyant secured the victory for the Warriors 12-4.

What's Next? Westcliff will be back at the OC Great Park on Friday as they will take on Saint Katherine in a non-conference double header.
