Too Many Fouls Hurt the Warriors

What Happened?
Westcliff Warriors (4-6, 2-1) faced off against Saint Katherine Firebirds (6-6, 2-0) Saturday. The game was a tough game between the two squads. The lead from the game never going beyond 10. Westcliff was hurt from too many fouls that gave the Firebirds free throw opportunities to be able to seal away the game. Westcliff shot an impressive 49% from the field along with 46% from 3. Personal fouls however let the Firebirds grab 17 points from the free throw line compared to Westcliff's 3. At the end of the game the foul count was lopsided with Westcliff commiting 22 to the Firebirds 10. Westcliff was also outrebounded on the offensive end, 17-2. Final Score Westcliff Warriors 57 Saint Katherine Firebirds 65.

Coach Cook's Comments:
"We are just as close are we are far away from turning the corner to being a special team. This one stings with being in control for most of the game. Bottom line is we have to be tougher, mentally and physically. Credit to the other team, they are well coached, disciplined and wanted it more tonight."
"We underperformed to our abilities leaving points at the rim and giving up second chances. We will watch film, learn from our mistakes and practice with the intent of getting better."
