4 Westcliff Surfers advance to the 3rd Round in Seaside

Westcliff Surf went all the way down to San Diego, Ca Seaside Reef to compete on saturday. Westcliff after practicing at this location in the weeks prior took what they learned and applied it when it counted. Westcliff Surf won 4 heats along with another top 3 finish. 5 Surfers went to the 2nd round with Westcliff advancing 4 Surfers into the next round which will take place tomorrow (sunday).
Round one Results
Blaze Roche wins heat (1st Place) - 6 points
Bryce Mattox wins heat (1st Place) - 6 points
Cole Futak wins heat (1st Place) - 6 points
Jake Shiroke wins heat (1st Place) - 6 points
Jack Hopkins gets 2nd place - 5 points
Robbie Crist gets 5th place - 2 points
Round 2 Results
Jack Hopkins and Bryce Mattox came out with #2 and #3 spot to advance to the next round! Cole Futak came up just short with some great waves but not quite what the judges were looking for. Jake Shiroke was up next with a 2nd place to advance as well with Jack and Bryce. Blaze Roche finished Westcliff off with another 2nd place finish for the 4th Warrior in the advancing position.
Coaches' Notes
"We came out on fire today with 4 heat wins in a row !! We have been practicing here at seaside reef often so it payed off to know exactly where to position ourselves in the water.l and what to expect with different tide changes. Like I've said before, all we need are good waves to improve our surfing and it showed today! All of our placements showed who stood out today. We look forward to continue to show out tomorrow morning starting with the women's heats with Ninon Mattei and Sierra Lim. Followed by the mens 3rd round with Ian Livesay coming after in the longboard rounds." - Coach Chelsea Taylor
What's Next? Westcliff will be back at the Seaside Reef tomorrow morning with 4 Warriors Jack Hopkins, Bryce Mattox, Jake Shiroke and Blaze Roche competing in the 3rd round. Along with the women's rounds and longboard rounds short after.
