Warriors the No. 2 Seed in Cal Pac Championships

Westcliff Women's Basketball in it's 1st season in the California Pacific Conference have made it to their 1st Cal Pac Championship Tournament.

Westcliff (10-2) was selected as the No. 2 seed in the tournament winning out the South Pod behind No. 1 UC Merced (10-0) who won the North Pod. La Sierra (10-3) was seed at No. 3 with Park-Gilbert (6-3) at No.4

Rounding out the field is No. 5 Simpson (6-6) and No. 6 Saint Katherine (5-8).

The Warriors were the dark horse, the conference was not expectating us in our 1st year to be with the 2nd best record in the conference. Earlier in the year Westcliff was projected to finish the season at 6th in the conference preseason polls.

In the Cal Pac, the Warriors have some dangerous tools in their belt heading into the tournament. 

Trinity Vasquez ranks first in the Cal Pac in Scoring (446), minutes played (854) and 6th in Assists (71).

Laura Tapia ranks first in the Cal Pac in Steals (88), 9th in Scoring (286) and 2nd in Assists (93).

Bailey Hawkins ranks first in the Cal Pac in Blocks (39), 2nd in Rebounds (230) and 5th in Scoring (317).

Westcliff Women's Basketball becomes the 2nd team in Westcliff's 1st year in the NAIA and Cal Pac to make it to the postseason. 

Westcliff will tip off in their first postseason game on Monday, the 28th at 7:30pm. They will face the winner of Game 2 (No. 3 La Sierra or No. 6 Saint Katherine). Cal Pac Championship will be hosted by Cal Maritime in Vallejo, CA.
