The Westcliff women's volleyball team got back on track Tuesday at Goldenwest College with a relatively breezy outing against Providence Christian.
Although the Sea Beggars scrapped their way back into a competitive third set, the first two were completely dominated by the Warriors in an impressive 3-0 sweep (25-8, 25-10, 25-22).
The Warriors, coming off a 3-1 loss at Saint Katherine, tested out a few new options offensively, and if the first two sets were any indication, the new lineup looks solid.
"I thought today – the first two sets especially – was really good" Westcliff head coach Kenny Ma said. "We applied what we've been working on the last couple of practices.
"We were trying a new lineup today. Trying a different offense, trying to speed it up, running different plays, and I think we were really successful with it, especially in those first two sets."
The usual suspects were deep into their bags Tuesday night.
Maddie Shepston crushed at net, sending home 11 kills to complement 11 digs on defense and a pair of aces at the line.
Erykah Wilson was money at net as well, killing nine winners of her own.
Peyton Holst had six kills in the middle, while Elise Brown and Cydnee Reimann had four each.
Michelle Do did what Michelle Do does in the middle of the action, helping set up 16 teammates, while Taylin Natale racked up 10 assists.
The Warriors (8-10, 6-5) travel to La Sierra for another important California Pacific Conference showdown next Thursday.
First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
