In his role as the Esports Coordinator, Neil is involved with recruiting players for the team, responsible for entering the team into collegiate competitions, helping the team develop as individuals as well as its own entity, and forming relationships to help players during their time at Westcliff and beyond. 

Entering the world of esports was a natural fit for Neil after spending time both in undergraduate and graduate school working on indie games developed by students. Whether it’s on the development/production side or the consumer-facing side, Neil’s favorite part about video games is the passion people across the entire ecosystem have for games. 

Before coming to Westcliff, Neil had a career in technology and digital marketing. His first exposure to collegiate esports was as a content marketing manager at a fintech company, where his team oversaw a sponsorship of a local team. From that experience, Neil had his heart set on helping develop the world of esports for college students. 

Since 2014, Neil has been the founding Editor-in-Chief of Dorkaholics, a pop culture publication focused on bringing together fans of comics, film/tv, and gaming. He continues to build relationships in the entertainment industry, such as attending as press at events like IndieCade, Game Developers Conference, and Los Angeles Games Conference.
