Jerry Olszewski to Join Westcliff Swim Program
Westcliff Athletics are proud to announce Jerry Olszewski to our Westcliff Swim program for this upcoming season.
We sat down with Coach Olszewski and asked him his past coaching experience and his vision for the program.
1. How long have you been coaching?
35 years
2. Where have you coached before Westcliff?
"Presently I own and operate ORCA Swim Club and ORCA Swim School based in Villa Park/Orange area. Previously I was the National Team coach for New Zealand for 2 years 2016-2018. Prior to that I was the Head Coach at Arizona Gold from 2007 to 2016. I was also the Head Coach at Scottsdale Aquatic Club from 2002 to 2007. I was Head Coach at King Aquatic Club from 1994 to 2002. I have assistant coaching experience with University of New Mexico and New Mexico State."
3. What is your goal with the Westcliff Swim Team?
"My goal for the program is to be competitive at the NAIA Championships on a yearly basis."
4. What is your coaching Philosophy?
My coaching philosophy is to be a teacher, lead by example and teach the athletes that hard work pays off. I want my athletes to learn lessons and skills that will pay off throughout life."
Westcliff Swim will start the season with a Penthalon this weekend at Long Beach City College.
