Hornung Named All-American

The season of firsts continues. Men’s Soccer had a banner year in 2021, becoming the first Westcliff program to qualify for the California Pacific Conference playoffs. Now men’s soccer has claimed another Westcliff first: Quentin Hornung has been named an NAIA All-American.

Men’s Soccer Sets New Standard for Westcliff Athletics

It was a very difficult loss to stomach. Falling 2-0 to No. 2 Marymount California, the Westcliff men's soccer team took its time leaving the field on a bitter cold Thursday night in the expansively vacant Central Valley. Eleven Warrior seniors played their last game on the college pitch, and the tears spoke volumes after the final buzzer sounded.

Westcliff soccer superfan, Dan O’Keefe, sat alone along the sideline at UC Merced’s Bobcat Field Wednesday afternoon in the first round the California Pacific Conference Championships, where the Warriors made history with a 4-2 win over La Sierra.

Warriors Surge into Playoffs with Road Wins

The Westcliff men’s soccer team finished out the regular season in dominant fashion over the weekend, picking up road wins at Park-Gilbert (5-2) and Benedictine Mesa (6-1).

Oh, Jakob! Schnitzler Ends Epic Comeback Win in OT

Magic was in the air Wednesday night at the Great Park, where the Westcliff men’s soccer team scratched and clawed its way to a 2-1 overtime win over Benedictine. Jakob Schnitzler soared into the air on a corner set piece from Quentin Hornung moments into the first overtime period and headed the game-winner into the right corner of the net.

The Warriors are now tied with Embry-Riddle in the loss and tie columns.
Warriors Fall to Eagles in 2OT

The Westcliff men’s soccer team suffered its first loss in Cal Pac play Friday night at Embry-Riddle, where the Eagles came from behind once again to tie it at 2-2 in regulation, before winning it in the second extra period, 3-2.

Although Pacific Union is not in its pod, the Westcliff men’s soccer team picked up yet another California Pacific Conference win Friday morning at the Great Park, 7-3. Quentin Hornung had a modest season’s worth of production, scoring five goals – four before halftime.
